Methanol low pressure synthesis catalyst for coal gas at low pressure with the active temperature of 500k-530k and the operating pressure of 5MPa-10MPa, which was lower than the traditional synthesis process temperature and favorable to the balance of methanol reaction. Most of the copper - based catalysts used for CO2 hydrogenation to methanol are developed on the basis of syngas to methanol.
Methanol low pressure synthesis has the advantages of low energy consumption and less impurity content in crude methanol, so it is easy to obtain high quality crude methanol. CuO becomes the active center of catalyst after reduction and exists at the active interface of CuO-Cu.
Methanol low pressure synthesis catalyst for coal gas is mainly composed of CuO-ZnO-Al2O3, the functions of the three parts are different. During the synthesis of methanol, the adsorption rate of carbon monoxide on the surface of copper catalyst is quite high, while the adsorption rate of hydrogen is much lower than that of carbon monoxide. ZnO is a good hydrogenator, enabling hydrogen adsorption and activation, thus improving the conversion rate of copper-based catalysts.
