It can adsorb molecules smaller than its pore diameter into the interior of the hole, while repels molecules larger than the pore diameter out of its hole, playing the role of screening molecules.
Compared with other types of desiccants or adsorbents, zeolite molecular sieve still has higher adsorption capacity under low partial pressure and high temperature conditions, and the adsorption rate of polar molecules such as water is also higher at low partial pressure or concentration.
Zeolite molecular sieves are widely used in air purifiers of cryogenic air separation units in the adsorption function. In traditional cryogenic air separation, before the raw air enters the cryogenic separation process, moisture, small molecular impurities, carbon dioxide, etc. in the gas need to be filled. The air purification system of it is used to remove clean air, and then through various regeneration methods, the service life of molecular sieve is prolonged, energy saving, consumption reduction and cost reduction.

Regeneration:
It can be regenerated by either heating in the case of thermal swing processes; or by lowering the pressure in the case of pressure swing processes. To remove moisture from a molecular sieve, a temperature of 250-300°C is required. A properly regenerated molecular sieve can give moisture dew points below -100°C, or mercaptan or CO2 levels below 2 ppmv. The outlet concentrations on a pressure swing process will depend on the gas present, and on the conditions of the process.

② Drying and desulfurization of natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and liquid hydrocarbons.
③ General gas deep drying.
