Aluminum hydroxide, with high whiteness, is a multifunctional filler. It can be added in coatings to increase brightness, anti-corrosion and other effects. Different particle sizes of the powder also have different characteristics.
1) Particle size in 1um aluminum hydroxide powder has a very high brightness, low surface area, and compatible with all coating systems. Compared with other natural titanium dioxide, it is able to maintain the coating high gloss and pure white color, making the formulation design more flexible.
2) Aluminium hydroxide powders with particle size of 2-3.5um are used in some fields to reduce the brightness of various powder coatings.
3) Powders with particle size of 7-9um are usually used as flame retardants for elastomeric roof coatings, making the roofing with excellent physical properties, water resistance, fast dispersion and flame retardant properties. Surface modification makes the hydrophilic surface into hydrophobic surface, thus having good compatibility with the elastomer of roofing.
