According to different use requirements, activated alumina for gas drying generally has particle size specifications that can adapt to different reaction conditions and equipment shapes, high mechanical strength and large adsorption surface area.

1) Particle size specification

Activated alumina powder for gas drying is generally 10 microns to 50 microns; Spherical particles are generally divided into 1-3 mm, 2-3 mm, 3-5 mm, 4-6 mm and 5-8 mm, etc.;

2) Bulk density

The bulk density of activated alumina for gas drying varies depending on particle shape, size, activation conditions, and manufacturing methods. Generally 0.4~0.9 kg/L.

Generally, the larger the pore size of the product, the lower the bulk density.

The surface area of the activated alumina for gas drying also varies greatly with the use requirements and preparation methods, ranging from 100 m2/g to 400 m2/g.

Conditions of Using

1. Don't open the package of activated alumina for gas drying before use, so as not to absorb moisture and affect the use effect.

2. It's suitable for deep drying under conditions of pressure greater than 5 kg/cm2.

3. After a certain period of use, the adsorption performance of activated alumina for gas drying will gradually decline. The absorbed water should be removed through regeneration in order to repeatedly use the gas in the regeneration operation:

(1) Dry gas with lower or the same pressure than in drying operation.

(2) A dry gas with higher or the same temperature than the drying operation.

(3) The heated wet gas;

(4) Wet gas after decompression.
