Resins of Solid surface or sheet

As we learned from solid surface manufacturers, we know the rough process as below:

Mixing resin and flame retardant filler like ATH, add curing agent and casting in the mold under heating conditions, cutting and polishing then get solid surface products finally.

There are many kinds of resins and most manufacturers choose several ones only like PMMA, MMA, UPR, PR etc.

PMMA is the short name of Polymethyl Methacrylate and MMA is Methyl Methacrylate. UPR is the short name of Polyester resin and PR is Polyester Resin.

During the production, the most important specifications of resin is viscosity and purity. At the same time, TAN(total acid nnumber) can affect the reaction with curing agent too.
