Sometimes, buyers prefer CIF terms than FOB as the sellers deal with all shipment issues to help them to save time and cost.

Regarding CIF terms, ocean freight is an important factor to both shipper and consignee, especially in the hard period of Covid-19 situation.

Actually, ocean freight increased a lot since middle 2020 and it makes some business relationships broken. Because of th increased cost, imports lost advantages than domestic manufactuers in many countries. Some importers have to give up or look for new sources to maintain the business. So hard.

In Mar and Apr, 2022, China's exports decreased so much because the spreading of virus happened in many cities. Lockdown in the cities makes people working at home, productions stopped, transportations blocked etc and that why the ocean freight is decreasing.

It is good opportunity to create new business and maintain regular relationships if shipper can do something to help customers to save cost of orders.
