The role of dispersants:
In the preparation of ceramic slurry, high-efficiency dispersant plays the role of grinding aid, dilution water reduction and stable dispersion due to electrostatic stabilization and steric hindrance.
(1) When the ceramic raw materials are ball milled to a certain time and fineness, it is often difficult to grind and even agglomeration and "reverse grinding" phenomenon occur. The dispersant can be firmly adsorbed on the cracks of the particles and can penetrate deep into the cracks, which can effectively break the agglomeration in the powder to obtain a slurry with small particles, uniform distribution and near-spherical size, thus playing the role of grinding aid. At the same time, the dispersant can reduce the interfacial tension between solid and liquid, effectively wet the particles, reduce the thickness of the hydration film, obtain a slurry with good fluidity, and achieve the effect of dilution and water reduction. Through electrostatic repulsion and long polymer chains to form a steric hindrance layer of the hydration film, it can effectively prevent the flocculation and agglomeration of the particles, and make the particles "aggregate less and separate more".
(2) The study found that the viscosity of the slurry obtained by adding the dispersant was significantly reduced, the fluidity was increased, and the stable dispersion effect was achieved;
(3) Adding a dispersant also has the effect of bonding or increasing the strength of the green body, which plays an important role in improving the performance of ceramic products and reducing the cost of preparation.
