Refining Process - Delayed Coking

The process is to heat heavy oil through tubular hearter and reach to the temperature that coking reaction needed, and leave the furnace pipe quickly, then oil cracking and condensation reaction happened in the coke tower, the generated oil and gas escaping from the top of coke tower, keeping the generated cok in the tower.

In this process, coking reaction was postponed into the coke tower, so it is called delayed coking.

The devices can be used in circulation operation, is to use heavier fraction in the coking distillate oil which comes from heavy oil as circulating oil, and stay for a long time in the devices.
