The chemical formula of polish alumina is Al2O3. It is a white powder with high hardness, insoluble in water, odorless and tasteless, very hard in quality, easy to absorb moisture but not deliquescent. It belongs to an amphoteric compound and is easily soluble in strong acids and alkalis.

There are more than a dozen known crystal phases of alumina, currently mainly composed of three crystal phases, namely α, γ and β phases.
