Application of boehmite in lithium battery separators
Boehmite coating can significantly improve the thermal stability of the diaphragm, enhance the safety of lithium batteries, improve the multiplier performance and cycle performance of the battery, while the thinner coating thickness helps to improve the volume energy density and weight energy density of lithium-ion batteries. Alumina's are more widely used in diaphragms. However, it is worth noting that alumina is harder and therefore more abrasive to machinery during the cutting and coating process, which is costly compared to boehmite. boehmite, on the other hand, has characteristics such as high heat resistance and good compatibility with organic materials, and its low hardness reduces wear and tear on machinery, giving it an advantage in terms of cost.
Advantages of boehmite in lithium battery separators

The special physical and chemical properties of the material can greatly improve the safety performance of lithium batteries, thus providing the possibility of high power lithium batteries with high energy amperage and safe and reliable charging and discharging.
Advantage 2: The high purity alumina or bomite material also has very good thermal conductivity, so that when the battery temperature is too high, this material can conduct heat very well, thus solving the problem of poor thermal conductivity of PP/PE material.
Advantage 3: High purity alumina or boehmite materials also have excellent flame retardancy, because high purity alumina or boehmite materials themselves are very good flame retardants, even if the temperature is too high and reaches the zero combustion point, the good flame retardant properties of the material will prevent widespread combustion or even explosion.
