Silane coupling agent, is the surface modifier of ATH

Silane coupling agent can significantly improve the dispersion of aluminum hydroxide in the hot vulcanized silicone rubber matrix, improve the performance of silicone rubber, and play the role of compatibilizer.

In addition to improving the dispersion of aluminum hydroxide, the crosslinking density of the compound is also increased. The tensile strength of the compound increases from 4.02 MPa to 7.8 MPa and 7.05 MPa, and the hardness of Shore A increases from 60 degrees to 68 degrees and 71 degrees, respectively. Meanwhile, the elongation at break of the compound decreases from 387% to 261% and 223%.

It is helpful to increase the elongation at break while improving the tensile strength of the compound.

Because the aluminum hydroxide is uniformly dispersed in the matrix under the action of silane coupling agent, the flame retardancy of the compound is improved, but the Mooney viscosity of the compound is also increased.
