Pore structure of activated alumina carrier
1. Porosity
Porosity
refers to the inner pore of a particle. The pore volume inside the
powder particle per unit mass is called the pore volume. The porosity
determines the pore size and specific surface area. The increase of
porosity is sometimes beneficial to the improvement of the activity of
activated alumina carrier, but the mechanical strength is therefore
reduced. Therefore, comprehensive consideration is needed.
2. Pore distribution
To
know the effect of the pore size of the activated alumina carrier on
the activated alumina, the pore volume distribution of the activated
alumina carrier should be known in addition to the data of the specific
pore volume and the average pore size.
The
pore volume distribution of activated alumina carrier refers to the
change of pore volume according to the pore size to determine the number
of large pores, transition pores and micropores contained in powder
particles.
